History of Nuclear Proliferation

As of 2016, there are 9 nuclear-armed states. 5 of them - China, France, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States - are categorized as an official nuclear weapon states (NWS) while remaining countries - India, Israel, North Korea and Pakistan - are neither a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) nor considered as a rightful nuclear armed state by the globe.
